Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain

This is the second book to Heartsick. I had thought that the first book was good but, this one is much better. Many things going on.

Archie Sheridan is a detictive in the Portland police force and is addicted to pain killers. Ever since his experience with Gretchen the beauty killer he hasn't been the same. He can't get her out of his head and keeps having sexual fantasies about her and him together. He keeps telling himself that its wrong but he can't seem to help it.

There had been a murder in Forest park and Archie and his partner Henry are there. Archie hasn't been back to work for awhile and it seems like he needs to do something else to keep his mind else where. Him and Henry are checking everything about the body.

Susan is a reporter for the newspaper and has been the one to report the story on Archie. She's been trying to get a story out about the Senator but her head guy doesn't want it to go out. Later on she finds out that someone is trying to stop the story all together and there is only one thing for her to do and that's keep pushing.

Gretchen escapes from prison and its only Archie that can bring her back in or so he thinks. Henry and a few other cops decides to put Archie and his wife Debbie in protective custedy. Problem is, Archie has a plan and with Gretchen having his phone number as will as watching him when she can, he's got to get it to come together.

Quite a few things happening in this book. You'll have to read to find out what happens. I'll just tell you that its good. Does Archie get his girl or does she get away? Does Susan get her story in the paper? Everything is answered in the end and I'm not telling the ending.

Well, I'm off to read my next book. Read a good book like this one. You might be surprised how it ends.
