Miss Millie Foxboro has an invitation to come help Professor Callum Hughes at his estate Willowfield. The drive is going to be a long one from what the driver said. So she just laid back in the seat and fell asleep for awhile. When the driver said to look and she say the estate, it was much bigger then she expected.
Ms. Dillard was the main house cook and a few other things. She seemed a little standoffish. Because there wasn't much electric in the house, Ms. Dillard was carrying a candle. She walked me up to the room I was going to be staying in. Felicity was there with some tea to help me relax. I did ask when I was going to meet the Professor and Ms. Dillard said tomorrow. The room was nice. Had it's own bathroom with a nice bathtub.
Millie didn't know what to think. She kept hearing things outside the door and when she opened it, there was no one there. Then, she saw a figure of a woman dressed in white standing by a door. When she moved to walk towards it, it disappeared into the door it was standing by. Millie decided to just turn back around and go to bed. She knew she was seeing things and figured she would just disregard it.
When Millie met to Professor it was later the net day. He quizzed her about what languages she new and wither or not she would be able to help him. The library was a mess but, pretty big. Most of that day they worked together sorting out his notes and papers. Off and on she noticed that he would glance at her. What she didn't know was that his wife had died and that he was constantly looking at her and asking he questions.
There were some night where she didn't seem herself and began to sleep walk again. The professor was drunk one night when she just followed that ghost into his room. He started to come on to her. She wasn't in the kind of mood for that and said she should just go back to her room.
I'll leave it at that. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens. It was better then I thought. Ghosts and many other things go on in that house. Makes for a fast read and a short read.
