The Passage by Justin Cronin

For a first book in this series and by a New author, I'll have to say that this book was good even though it was 879 pages long. I usually cringe when it comes to really long books unless its three books in  one..lol.

Special Agent Brad Wolgast was brought in by the military to help them bring 12 prison guys on death row to them for something he was never told that they were doing. Wolgast wasn't happy when it was brought to his attention that he was to go get a 6 year old girl and bring her back to them. The girls name was Amy and she was sitting with a sister named Lacey. Lacey was trying to keep her safe but what Lacey didn't know was that her life and Amy's were going to be intertwined for many, many years.

When things at the compound goes bad. Wolgast is given the girl by the doctor who created the virus which is what's going to kill millions of people for years to come. So he decides to find a place for them to hide but then a flash happens and he dies. Amy then leaves.

The last colony or so they think is where a good amount of people were brought to when they were kids. It was done to protect them. But if they knew what was coming and whom wasn't coming back. They should be happy tell things started to happen to make the colony have problems. The Peter and a few others go to do somethings outside to find things that were needed. But Peter meets Amy who is about 14 year old. What he doesn't know is that she follows him back to the colony and things start to happen even more.

People start acting funny and its a small group including Amy and Peter all plan to leave and go looking for the truth of what really happened and started the whole thing.

Well, being that this book is so long and I enjoyed reading it a lot. I'm not telling a whole lot more. But, I'll say its worth every page of this book. I'm off to start my next book. Pick up a good book like this one. I bit you'll want to know what happens. Can't wait to read the second and I hope that its as good.
