Freedom by Jonathan Franzen
This is a story about the Bergland family. Patty had two sisters and one brother. Her parents were always quite busy with work and didn't really spend much time any of them. Patty was about seventeen when she called her mom and said she had been raped by a boy. Her came and got her and instead of taking her to the hospital, she brought her home. Then, called patty's father to tell him what happened. When her dad came to the house, he told Patty that he will deal with this. But, when he talked to the boys father and got their story, he came back and told his daughter that they aren't going to do anything. Patty wasn't happy but, tried to deal with it the best she could.
Walter Bergland and Richard Katz were roommates in college. He saw Patty from a distance and wanted to get to know her better. Richard didn't think that Patty would be into him because, she was a basketball player and her life was all about basketball. Walter was one of those guys that cared about nature and would send Patty plants for her room. She didn't really know what to say to Walter. She wasn't much into dating anyone. Walter did seem to be a good guy though.
When Patty met Richard she started to have a small crush on him. He was seeing plenty of other girls and sleeping with them if he could. He told Patty one night that he was going to New York for the holidays. She wanted to go with but Walter wanted her to come home with him so, she can meet his mom. His dad died not to long ago.
She ended u p changing her mind after she had already went with Richard. She took a bus and went to Walter. He wasn't sure what to think at first and then let her stay. It was two weeks and they could get to know each other better. They both had to go back to school after the holidays were over.
Patty blew out her knee and was in the hospital when Walter came in and asked her to marry him. She said, Yes. They had two kids, a boy and a girl. They had been married for 23 years. and their life had way to many ups and downs. Life for them, was going to change in many ways because of the decisions they made in those years. Life also will go on too.
You'll have to read the book to see what happens. I'll worn you that its fairly long read and a little slow at times.

Chloe and Zoe Denning are twins. They have been kidnapped just as they are about to turn 21 years old. The guy that took them was humming the birthday song. Both girls were hog tied.
Their mother Selma was beyond herself when she called Brianna Hayward. Brianna tried to get her to calm down so she could explain what happened. It took Selma a few minutes then, she told her everything. Brianna told Selma that she needed to go to the cops and tell them. Selma didn't think she could. Brianna was a twin too, and knew how it felt to lose one. She had started a group for those that had lose a twin could come and talk about it. That's how she met Selma.
Detective Rick Bentz is a cop in New Orleans. He'd been sitting in his office when Brianna came calling on him. She started out her story about her cousin she hardly knew and that he wasn't the 21 killer. Bentz didn't know what to believe. Then, when she told him about Chloe and Zoe being missing, He started to have a few questions pop up into his own head. He was going to make some calls.
Zoe had wiggled her way out of her biddings and was waiting for a chance to attack the nut case. Just as he got close enough to her, she let go on him. She did as much damage as she could so she could try and get away and she did.
Jase Bridges is a reporter and he's also holding a big secret that could cause some problems with Brianna is she was to find out. He knew that she had gone to see detective Bentz. He needed to find out what she knew about the twins. He also didn't want her to know the truth about his past. This was going to be tricky for him.
You'll have to pick up the book to find out what happens to the twins, if they survive a mad man. Find out if Jase tells the truth about his past to Brianna. I'll just add this though, the ending is really good.

The 5th wave by Rick Yancey
This is a very interesting story. Its the first book in the series. Its about aliens coming to the planet and killing millions of people.
Cassie, her brother Sammy and dad are all living in the same house for now. Their father is trying to take care of their mother but, she's dying. Cassie knows that's it isn't going to be much longer and then they'll have to figure out what they are going to do. Their dad digs a hole and put their mother into it. They say good bye.
Within 24 hours they leave and find this camp to stay in. There are a bunch of other people there and their kids. After being there for a few weeks, these army people show up. They tell us that all the kids are going on the yellow buses. Cassie doesn't like it. She doesn't want to say good bye to her brother but, she has no choice.
Something inside of Cassie tells her that something isn't right. She tells one of the soldiers that she needs to find this other kid. After they leave to hike through the woods, Cassie decides she's going to kill the soldier. Just after she shoots the soldier all hell brakes out. She needs to think fast. As soon as a green glow starts she dives into a hole and waits it out.
Cassie knows that her dad is dead along with everyone else in the camp. She is now by herself. She walks a ways tell she finds a store she can get camping stuff from. She goes deep into the woods and stays there. What she doesn't know is that she is being watched.
Sammy finds out that the place he's taken too is an army base. They are turning the kinds into soldiers for some reason. What he doesn't know is that they are given implants that could kill them.
Cassie ends up trying to find a place to stay warm and ends up getting shot in the leg. The next thing she knows is that she's in a bed and her leg is bandaged. When she looks around and sees a good looking guy looking at her. She doesn't know him and isn't quite sure she can trust him. As time goes by, she does find out the truth about him.
I'm not going to give away much more about the story. They did make the book into a movie. But I'll just say this, its a pretty good read.
Note: Will I"m starting to read some more now. I'll be working on finishing up series that I've started and hadn't finished. Plus, will be adding new books to my blog here. Hope you stick around and read what books are added. I'm on my way to getting to 200 books.

Deadline by Sandra Brown
This book was very good. It was about lies that you tell yourself and sometimes even get away with. Its about murder and getting revenge. This author is one of my favorites to read.
Dawson Scott is a reporter for a magazine. He spent time over seas in the war zone. He came back home with some scares of his own. Gary Headly is an FBI agent and had been after Carl Wingert for the last 40 years. He told Dawson about all that and asked if he'd been willing to take a trip for a trial that was going on. What Dawson didn't expect was what was going to happen when He first see's Amelia Wesson. If you ever thought lusting after someone wasn't possible, it is And he did.
Dawson got a little close to Amelia then he wanted to at first. There was a few other things going on that made him wonder what was really going on. Carl is a very evil man. He treated his friends badly and turned his son into an evil person too.
Dawson had some secrets that he didn't want to share with anyone but, Amelia had this way about her that got him to open up to her. What he hid from himself she found a way to get it out of him. He would keep trying to push her away and she wouldn't let him. I think she was falling in love with him.
By the end of the book you find out all the truth about everything. Its very much worth reading.

The Promises she keeps by Erin Healy
Promise had a lung disease that was going to kill her sooner then later. She was waiting for Zack to show up. She was standing close to the cliffs that looked out onto the ocean. What she didn't know was that her life was going to change in only a few minutes.
Chase and his sister Chelsea were twins but, Chase had Autism. He loved to draw pictures of trees and spent most of his days doing that. They would take only a few hours or so and walk to get ice cream. He liked to keep the to the same way of doing things.
Porta Cerreto is Zacks much older mother, she was also a witch and was in search of immortality. Which would become the death of her or others that would get in her way. When she heard about Promises accidents and that she survived. Porta thought that she had found what she was looking for. Things end up becoming quite dangerous.
Chase had a good heart and seemed to care about people a lot. He started to give his pictures away. It confused his sister to why he was doing that.
The book started out a little slow but, it picked up the farther you read. Its a good story and I'm not going to spoil the ending.

Spirit walk by Richie Tankerslry Cusick
This is a two in one book. Walk of the spirits and Shadow mirror. They tell the story of Miranda Barnes and her mom moving to St. Yvette's. She meets Ashley, Gage, Parker, Roo and Etienne. She also meets her Aunt Teeta. Finds out a little bit about her grandfather who dies not long after they moved there.
She finds out that she has a special gift for hearing and seeing spirits. She also starts to feel really close to Etienne and he has a habit of showing up in her room. When they are close to each other she feels really hot all over.
She need to solve the mystery of the spirits that were visiting her and her friends wanted to help her solve it. Gage loved to do the research on about anything and the rest just liked to talk and bring up ideas to help Miranda.
By the time you get to the second book you start to wonder what's going to happen to Miranda. Is she going to get together with Etienne or Gage who also seems to like her. But in this book the spirits are a lot more difficult to figure out what they want and how she can help them.
The book is fast paced and will worth the read. There are some surprises in store and the ending is great.
