Timekeeper by Tara Sim

This is the first book in a steampunk fantasy series. It's set in a Victorian world about clocks that keep areas of London and other towns alive. Danny is a mechanic that goes and works on the clocks when there's a problem. He's been having some problems because of one of the clocks exploding and almost killing him. His father has been stuck in the town of Molton for the last three years and his mother hasn't been the same since. Problem him and his mother has been  having with each other is in some ways she blames him.

Cassie is a good friend of his and has been helping him keep his father's car running. Earlier in the day, The lead mechanic has sent him to the town of Enfield, The Colton tower. An apprentice is surposed to meet him there. After arriving he first doesn't see, then in the corner there's a blond boy standing there. What he doesn't know that the boy was the clock spirit.

Danny has heard things about clock spirits but, had never seen one. It only took him twice to finally figure that out. The clock spirits name is Colton, just like the tower itself.

Matthias was his dad's good friend and they would work together. He had fallen in love with a clock spirit and lost his job. Danny did feel bad about it. He still would go see Matthias to talk to him about things bothering him.

When Danny heard that one of the clock towers had blown up. It reminded him of what happened to him. He keep thinking that some of the protesters were behind it, but he couldn't prove it.

When he found some time, he would go see Colton and spend some time. He would tell Colton about lots of things. One day Colton kissed him and it surprised him but, also sent a chill through him. Danny knew that if he ever got caught he could get fired.

Many things happen and the story is pretty fast paced. If you want to know how it ends you'll have to go pick up the book. It was really good.

Well, I'm off to start a new book. Remember to pick up a great book.

Library of souls by Ransom Riggs

This is the third book in Miss Peregrine's peculiar children's series. If this was a great way to end a trilogy this would be one hell of an ending. It was very good.

Jacob and Emma are on their own after the other children were taken by wights. They need to go and get their friends back and Miss Peregrine. They have to find out a way to save them so they are safe. Addison is a peculiar dog that can talk. He has a great nose and will help them sniff out where they were taken. They are also being followed by a hollow. These things you can't see with your naked eye, but Jacob can see them. He's been learning how to control them and tell them what he's wanting him to do.

Hollows can kill you if you can't see them and his grandfather was just like Jacob. He could see them too.

After leaving the subway, they found their way down to a boat ramp. There was this guy dressed all in a strange black cloak. He kept dropping rats out of it. Jacob asked if they could get a ride to Devil's Arc. His name was Sharon and he did boat tours. At first Sharon didn't want to help them. They finally said they could pay him but, didn't have the gold right now. He thought about it then said, sure.

With them in the small boat, being also that they were out in the open. Because they were with Sharon, the real normal people couldn't see them. Things are always different when it comes with the loops. Where they are heading, its not a good place.

Things ended up happening after they arrived in Devil's Arc. People here weren't nice. They were looking at them. Sharon told them both to stay close. Ambosia is addicting and many of the people here use it. What Jacob and Emma find out is that its the souls of Peculiar children. Which makes Emma quite upset. They are waiting for Sharon and they wonder off. They find the castle and a long bridge but, before they can figure out a way to get across they are attacked.

Jacob is hurt quite badly. Emma is hurt too. After that everything goes dark. They bought to meet Bentham. He's the brother of Caul and Miss Peregrine. He explains to them who he is and right off the bat, Emma doesn't trust him. The healer did heal Jacob and Emma.

Devil's Arc is a very dark and dangerous place because the Wight and hollows live close by. Caul, is crazy and the one thing he wants most is to find the Library of souls. He believes that it will give him great power. With someone like that it makes it even more important to get everyone back and safe.

Will, you'll have to read the book to find out what happens. I'll just say this, its a great ending. A good over evil story is always great. Pick it up.

Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to pick up a good book, you never know what you might just like.

Midnight sun by Stephenie Meyer

This book is another twilight but, its in Edward's perspective. He tells his side of the story. Bella is still there though. You get to see through his eyes and hear all his thoughts.

I will say this to all those that are huge fans of the original story. You might see that Edward seems to act and seem like he's obsessive when it comes to Bella. In many ways he is. He doesn't understand at first why he's so interested in her, when he's wanting to take her life. It comes down to how strong her smell is.

When Edward first sees Bella, the first thing that goes right to him is her smell. Its like a drug to him. His thoughts were bothering me. His thinking about ways to kill everyone in the classroom just to get to her. It is sort of crazy. His thoughts don't make since to me at times.

After him and Emmett go hunting for three days, he finally goes back to school to face her. He's not sure he's going to be able to control himself, but he wants to find out. Plus, the other thing that is bothering him is, he can't hear her thoughts. He can everyone else's but not hers. He tries very hard to ask questions so that he can figure her out and ends up being wrong at times. The conversation is strained because of him not knowing what she thinks.

He can't tell her any truths, at least not yet. After the almost death of her from getting squished by the van. He tries to avoid the her questions.

The other thing that peaks his cerousity is how many questions she seems to know the answer too. Things he says to her just makes it seem like he's from a different time and she becomes more interested in him.

His interdialongue is interesting to read. Makes a lot of things that had gone on in the orignal book come to light more. Some people may not like the book or think that its just to much. You'd have to figure that out on your own. Read the book, it might give you some answers but, it could also not make you happy to read how he is really.

Well, I'm off to start another book. Come back and see what I add next. Have a read day and remember to read a good book. It could brighten up you day.

A temptation of angels by Michelle Zink

Helen was woken up out of a dead sleep because of noise going on in her house. Her mom comes running into the room and tells her to get up and that its time for her to go hide. Helen doesn't understand. Her mom says there's a hiding place right over here. Her mom hits a spot in the wall and there's a secret passage there. Her mom tells her that there's stairs not far from where she's going to be sitting and that she needs to not make any noise at all.

Helen climbs in. Her mom tells her that she will need to go to the address on the piece of paper she hands her. Helen is scared but, she knows that she doesn't have much choice. She needs to stay alive. She can hear her mom close up the hiding place and the noises of men coming into her room. She sits as still as she can.

It gets quiet and then, Helen smells smoke. She knows that she needs to get out now. Its very dark and she feels around tell she can feel for the landing to the stairs that her mom said was there. She slowly moves down each step tell she hits the bottom. Now she has to find the exit. The smoke was getting heavy around her. She needed to get out before the house fill down on her.

Once out and down the road, she pulled the paper out and read the address on it. Where she needed to go wasn't that far from her. Glancing back once she could see the house burning. She began to walk to where she needed to go.

It was a fairly big house and she knocked on the door. A young man answered the door and let her in. She followed him into the library. There was another guy sitting behind a desk. He asked who she was and she told them that her name was Helen. The guys introduced themselves as Darius and Griffin. She explained what happened and said she was told to come here. It was getting late and Darius told Griffin to take her to one of the rooms upstairs and they would talk more in the morning.

The guys said they needed to go see Galizur. Helen wanted to come with. At first the guys didn't think it would be a good idea. But Helen was going to follow them anyways. Galizur's place was hidden some and the guys knew she had followed them. They were let in by Anna and taken through a few more rooms. Tell they were in a bigger room and a guy was working at a table.

Galizur said hello Helen and then told Anna to go make some tea. When the tea came, they all went and sat down in some chairs. Galizur explained to Helen and the guys that Many keepers have been getting killed because someone is wanting the key to the library. Helen wasn't sure what it was all about she just wasn't happy the her parents had to die. Galizur told Helen to follow him that he had a box for her. Once she got the box and opened it. There was all kinds of things from her dad in there and money.

On the way back, they ran into some nasty creatures and the guy fought them off. Once in the house the guys explained that demons can appear out of lights. After some time, Darius said they needed to find the guy that's been causing all of the keepers death.

Well, you'll have to read the book to find out what happens in the end. Do the guys and Helen finally become safe? Do they find the person or people that have been killing the keepers? Many questions are answered and the ending is good.

Freedom by Jonathan Franzen

This is a story about the Bergland family. Patty had two sisters and one brother. Her parents were always quite busy with work and didn't really spend much time any of them. Patty was about seventeen when she called her mom and said she had been raped by a boy. Her came and got her and instead of taking her to the hospital, she brought her home. Then, called patty's father to tell him what happened. When her dad came to the house, he told Patty that he will deal with this. But, when he talked to the boys father and got their story, he came back and told his daughter that they aren't going to do anything. Patty wasn't happy but, tried to deal with it the best she could.

Walter Bergland and Richard Katz were roommates in college. He saw Patty from a distance and wanted to get to know her better. Richard didn't think that Patty would be into him because, she was a basketball player and her life was all about basketball. Walter was one of those guys that cared about nature and would send Patty plants for her room. She didn't really know what to say to Walter. She wasn't much into dating anyone. Walter did seem to be a good guy though.

When Patty met Richard she started to have a small crush on him. He was seeing plenty of other girls and sleeping with them if he could. He told Patty one night that he was going to New York for the holidays. She wanted to go with but Walter wanted her to come home with him so, she can meet his mom. His dad died not to long ago.

She ended u p changing her mind after she had already went with Richard. She took a bus and went to Walter. He wasn't sure what to think at first and then let her stay. It was two weeks and they could get to know each other better. They both had to go back to school after the holidays were over.

Patty blew out her knee and was in the hospital when Walter came in and asked her to marry him. She said, Yes. They had two kids, a boy and a girl. They had been married for 23 years. and their life had way to many ups and downs. Life for them, was going to change in many ways because of the decisions they made in those years. Life also will go on too.

You'll have to read the book to see what happens. I'll worn you that its fairly long read and a little slow at times.

Haunted on bourbon street #1 by Deanna Chase

Jade Calhoun moved to New Orleane's to be near her best friend Kay. She found an apartment right next to a strip club and the owners Kane and Pyper were renting the place she was moving into. Kane was a very handsome looking man and it was hard for Jade to concentrate when he was around.
What Jade didn't know was that he could dream walk into her dreams tell one night he was there. The dream was very erotic and when she woke up in the morning she knew the easiest way to deal with how she was feeling was to take a cold shower. Jade also could see ghosts and one night she met the ghost that was also in her dreams. But he seemed to get jealous when she was around Kane. Kane would show up at certain times just to get under Jade's skin. She could never quite concentrate when he was around.
Pyper was very nice but she was having problems with her own ghost that was making her life feel like hell. Jade knew she needed to try to help her get rid of that ghost. She let Pyper stay at her apartment to help her friend out. A few days later Kane had asked Jade out and she said most differently yes. She knew what she wanted and during that date and later that evening she and Kane made love. By morning she was feeling very good tell he told her he was dream walking into her dream. She wasn't happy about it.
Jade and her friends tried to help Pyper out to get rid of the ghost but it back fired with pyper ending up in a coma. By the end of the book and certain thing happening which you'll have to read to find out for yourself. I'll just say it was a pretty good book and the first book in a series.
Well, off to start another book. This was also the first time I've read an ebook, which is what this was. So, I'm trying something new for me and I think I might enjoy reading like this after all. At first I wasn't sure. Remember to read a good book you never know where you'll find one.

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater

This is the last book to the Shiver series. Grace is a wolf now. Sam is worried and doesn't know where she is. He's wanting to go out there to look for her but, he knows some how he wouldn't be able too. Then, the phone rings and its Grace. He packs up everything to make the long trip to go get her, only to find that she's shifted again to a wolf. He needs to wait and hope that she will find him or call him.

Cole is driving Sam crazy but what Sam doesn't know is that Cole is trying to find a cure for being a wolf. He and Isabel have been fighting amongst themselves for a little while but, when Sam calls her to ask her to come over and help him help Cole because he's done something to himself. Cole hadn't been taking drugs which is what Isabel had thought at first. But it still didn't seem to matter to her.

A few days later Grace shows up at Isabel's house and calls Sam to come get her. Which he does. She has turned back into a wolf again and Sam puts her into the bathroom to await for her to change back again. Isabel calls to tell Sam the her dad has gotten the okay to kill all the wolves. Sam's not sure what to do. Cole knows he has to figure out a way to save them. He decides to try and turn Beck back to human to get a few answers from him. It might help them find a way to save most of them.

Grace decides to tell Rachel that she's alive in hopes that she will help her to face her parents. When Grace finally goes to see them, her dad starts to tell her what she's going to do. That doesn't go over very will. Afterwards Grace ends up changing into a wolf again and Sam finds out that the wolf hunt is on in the morning at dawn. So, cole's plan has to work. Sam is going to turn into a wolf and find Grace and lead them away.

You'll have to read the book to find out what happens next. Does Sam and Grace make it? What about Cole? The book was fairly good. A little slow with lots of things going on. But it was worth reading just to see how the series ended.

Well, I'm off to start my next book now. Remember to read a good book.

Matched by Ally Condie

This is the first book in another series that I just started. Cassie is a 17 year old girl that is happy its her birthday and that its the matching banquet. Tonight she finds out who her match is going to be. She's not really nervous either. As they deliver the food to everyone there and they eat. Cassie tries to find her friend Xander who is also there for the same reason as her. To Cassie's surprise she is called and her match is called and its Xander. She has the biggest smile on her face. She's so happy because she knows her match and he lives in the same area as her.

Once at home and relaxing the next day, she decides to look at it. What she see is Xander first then it blinks off and someone Else's face is shown, its Ky. At first she thinks its a mistake then things start to change for her. She starts to notice that Ky is noticing her and there are certain things that end up happening like, him showing up more to activities and other things. She had signed up for hiking and he's there as will.

She starts to look more forward to hiking because Ky is there. He starts showing her how to write and leaves her with questions about who he really is. She learns that she feels differently then she's supposed to feel about things. The society she lives in has very stricked rules about certain things and she could get into a lot of trouble. But something in her tells her she doesn't care about that. She's falling in love with Ky and she hopes he is too.

By the end of the book things start to change in Cassie's life more and she loses Ky and in some ways she loses Xander for telling him how she really feels. But she knows deep down that she can't live without him and needs to figure out what to do.

I'll have to say that the book is pretty good. If you haven't read it them maybe you should. Well, I'm off now to start another book. Remember to pick up a good book and read it. It may just take you some where, where you've never been before and you'd be happy to have gone there. Read a good book.

The forbidden game by L.J. Smith

This a a 3 in 1 book. The hunter, The chase and the kill. Jenny was out doing some walking around when she remembered that she needed to pick up something for her boyfriend Tom's birthday. She also knew that she was being followed by two people. She wasn't quite scared but, she knew she needed to find some where to go and hide for awhile. There was a lot of stores closed where she was. But something seemed strange when she came across this store. At first there wasn't a doorknob but now there was. Once inside she got this feeling that she was being watched.

Then, this guy seemed to appear in front of her. He said his name was Julian. Looking at him, he was more beautiful then anyone she had seen before. He asked if he could help her and she said that she was looking for a game to play with her friends. His eyes lit up and he showed her a game and said she could have it. What she didn't know was that this game was going to be more then just a game. It was going to be a game of life and death.

Tom, Audrey, Dee, Micheal, Summer and Zach all come over to Jenny's house to play a game. They put together the paper house and followed all the directions on the box and the something happened. They were in the paper house, like it was real. Julian showed up and said that they could only win if they made it to the top of the house. Each of them has to deal with a nightmare and make it through it. But Summer didn't. What Jenny didn't know was that Julian wanted her to himself and would do anything to get her. To save her friends she made a deal with him but, she tricked him and they all made it back home safe except for Summer.

Jenny kept making the mistake of offering things to Julian she wasn't going to ever give him. In the long run they all ended up in the shadow world where Julian is from, trying to save Tom and Zach and trying to survive because Julian wanted them all dead. Jenny knew he loved her and she needed to try and find away to make him not bad any more.

For a long book of three it was worth while reading. To much to add about what happens to all of them. So you'll just have to pick up the book and read it. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to read a good book, it might change you or open you up to something different.
