Sookie finds out that her vampire lover gets kidnapped and Eric asks her to help out. She at first isn't sure she wants to after Eric tells her that Bill has been unfaithful to her. She gets introduced to Alcide who's a Were. He's a big guy and at first she doesn't know what to make of him. They end up driving to Jackson Mississippi. He's planning on taking her to Club dead.
Because Sookie is a telepath she is going to see if she can get any information about where they are holding bill. But, what ends up happening is that she ends up getting in way over her head. Eric makes his presence known. Eric is just one vampire that would love to get into Sookies pants. Alcide is another.
Sookie finally finds out where they are holding Bill and ends up doing something she never thought she would.
Sookie always seems to get hurt ever since she has ment Bill and by the end of the book she's had enough.
I'm not going to give away all the good stuff. You'll just have to get the book and read it. Like I said, It's really good and worth reading.
