Catacomb by Madeleine Roux

 This is the third book in the Asylum series. It was really good. 

Dan, Abby and Jordan are on a road trip to New Orleans. Jordan is planning staying with his uncle Steve. Abby is wanting to make a few stops along the way to take pictures and do some research on a bad guy by the name of Jimmy Orsini who was caught making and selling booze. Even though Jordan just wants to get there, he lets her do what's she wanting to do. Dan's still having strange dreams and doesn't really want to tell his friends.

All three of them, have to stop because of the car getting a flat tire. They walk the few miles to the town up ahead of them. There's a sign on the gas stations door saying the guys next door. They meet a guy and he helps them get a new tire. Abby, feels weird about the guy, but lets it go. When they finish changing the tire they head back into town to get something to eat. Dan isn't feeling very hungry and only orders a coke. He takes his pill and just sits there listening to Abby talk to the older guy. 

They need to find a place to camp for the night and Dan isn't liking that. He wants a bed really badly. He also notices that there's a person on a motorcycle watching them. It took him a few minutes to notice it. 

They finally get on the road again. Abby wants to go to this library in Shreveport. It will take them most of the day. Abby and them get there and they go inside. What's interesting is Dan finds some interesting things in a glass case. Jordan, opens the case and lets Dan take a closer look. He sees some things about his parents that died. Jordan sees some things that Abby might want to read on. A few articles.

They finally make it to New Orleans and to Jordan's uncles. They are happy to be there because now the will have a bed to sleep in. Things will be okay, at least Dan hopes so, tell they meet Oliver. Jordan doesn't like him and figures there's something off about him. Its the stories Oliver starts to tell Dan that's become really weird. Dan's not sure what to make of it, tell later that day when they get back to Jordan's uncles house and there's a guy there talking to him. 

The guy introduces himself as Mr. Finnoway. He seems a little uppity. But, what Dan doesn't realize is this very powerful person is going to try and take his life and bones. He's a bone collector. Because of who his mom is, he wants to stop Dan from doing any more investigating into what his little group is really doing. One day, Dan goes where he shouldn't and ends up having his little finger being cut off. He's in a lot of pain when he wakes up. Then, after getting back to Jordan's uncles, a cop shows up to arrest him for murder. This whole thing, isn't going very will for him.

The book has really short chapters so its an easy book to read. I was having a hard time putting the book down the farther I got into it.

Revealed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

This is the eleventh book in the house of night series. Zoey and her friends are stuck at the school. She's having some problems with understanding her emotions and Aphrodite ends up having a vision of Zoey being very angry and doing something very bad. Because of that, Aphrodite askes Shaylin to watch her. Even though Aphrodite should have told Zoey what she had seen, because of that, things aren't going to go real will between them in the end. 

Neferet isn't quite herself after her fall from her penthouse. She needs to heal and become strong again. She ends up attacking the Mayor and killing him. Aphrodite is his son, her mom goes crazy and says some things very mean. Neferet ends up running and finding a fox hole and crawls inside. As she's sleeping she's having dreams of her life. From when she was abused as a young girl to getting marked and all the bad things she had been doing for years. The high Counsil doesn't even see who she really is. It begins to be noticed after lots of bad things come to lite. 

Erin helps the group with a ritual and ends up dying from the change. Dallas is on of the red fledglings He's quite mad and decides he's going to get even with all of Zoey's group. So after they have the ritual to send Erin to Nyx. He goes after Stevie Rae. He tries to kill her tell the Raven ends up attacking him. He would have killed him if Stevie Rar hadn't stopped him. It will take awhile for her to heal. 

With darkness not far away. Zoey isn't helping how she is feeling. Anger and a strange attachment to Aurox. Who has Heath inside him. One person that Zoey has loved for years. Her wanting him has put some problems between Stark and her. She does end up sucking Aurox's blood and feels really good before she feels bad about it. 

This book shocked me many times. I was happy to get some of the past about Neferet. Knowing what she is really about and her choice to be evil instead of good. I'm worried about what's going to happen next with Zoey and the rest of them. I guess soon enough I'll find out. Pick up the book, its really good.

Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

 This is the second book the Stormlight archive series. Its a 1303 page book and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to read this.

Shallan and Jasnah are on a boat, on their way to the shattered plains. They are trying to get there to share their findings. Shallan is still studying all she can to figure out as much as she can to help Jasnah out. But, the trip is shortened when she hears noises coming from down the way and finds Jasnah on the floor and covered in blood. She knows that Jasnah is dead and she may be the next. She has to think fast and ends up destorying the ship by sinking it. 

She ends up on shore pretty much hurt and hardly being able to walk. She hears noises again and its a few wagons going the other direction then, where she wants to go. She talks the driver and the few other he's with into taking her to the shattered plains. She promises him to pay him when she arrives safely. 

Kaladin ends up becoming a guard with the rest of bridge four. In the process of that, the other bridge crews are offered jobs too. He knows that there are things he doesn't understand. Syl is still there trying to help him as much as possible. He is now protecting Dalinar and the king, whom he really doesn't like. He tries to keep his feelings out of his job as much as he can. 

He also spends so time trying to practice what he knows he can do. These things will probably come in handy as the days go by. His life has been hard for awhile and he's learning to not let things get to him.

Dalinar has still been having visions. For Dalinar, he knows that the Knight Radiants are coming back. Navini has been helping him figure this out with him. His life is going to change and he just doesn't know yet. Navini knows that her daughter will be coming tell she finds out that Jasnah is dead. 

Things are going to change and besides the war that they have been fighting for years now. 

I don't want to blow the whole book. It's really a good book. I even think it's better then, the first book. Read it, starting with the first one. 

I'm going to go start my next book. 

Sirens by Janet Fox

Josephine Winter's is seventeen and is almost done with high school tell her Pa tells her she's going to New York city to stay with her aunt and uncle. She starts to argue about it, then, her Pa says that she has no choice. She's going up there to find someone to marry. She can hear her mother in the kitchen doing dishes and Jo gets up and walks in there. Her mother just tells her that she needs to do what her Pa says.

Its 1925, when Jo gets to her aunt and uncle's she see's her cusion Melody. She looks to much like a flapper. Short hair and the clothes. She takes Jo upstairs to her bedroom where she gives her a bunch of clothes she can have. Tells her that tomorrow she'll take Jo shopping.

Teddy is Jo's brother and she remembered to bring some of his stuff that is important to her with her. She really never thought he was dead, but many of her family thought he was.

After getting a good nights sleep, Melody comes and gets her and they head out into the city. First thing is getting a hair cut and its short. Second, getting a few more things of clothing, some make-up and other stuff.

When Jo looks in the mirror, at first she doesn't notice herself. She knows her Pa wouldn't approve.
Later on, Melody tells her to get ready because tonight their going out. She's upstairs getting everything ready when she hears the doorbell.

There's a girl that's quite pretty sitting in the living room. Melody introduces her as Louis. Her boyfriend is Danny O'Connor He's a very powerful man. He's heard of him because of Her brother Teddy. She has his Journal but, hasn't read it yet.

Her plan was to go out and come back early so she can spend some time reading. She does know that she's never been to a speakeasy. When they leave they get into a limo. When they get to the place there was a band playing. Louis tells me that its her brother playing in the band. Her brothers name is Charlie. He's cute, Jo thought.

Days go by and Jo gets to meet Danny and is taken to his place which is huge. Jo does know that he wants something from her. But, all she does is play along. She's not going to give him anything yet.

Then, some things start to happen and people she loves is getting hurt. Its time she sits down and understand what's in Teddy's journal. She spends all day and into the evening reading. Something in her tells her that she's being watched by someone.

But, I'm not going to give away the ending. Many things end up happening and things in Jo's life does change. Pick up the book and read what happens. It was sort of a slow read but, I did finish it.

Destined by P.C.Cast and Kristin Cast

This is the ninth book in the house of night series. Zoe and her friends are going back to the school. They aren't sure what will really happen after they get there. But they know that Neferet was put back in charge. Stark, who is Zoe's warrior and lover, has been having bad dreams. He really hasn't been his self since what happened in the otherworld.

Rephaim was a raven mocker tell Nyx accepted him as changed for the things that had happened. Him and Stevie Ray have been together ever since. The whole group are still living at the depot. But they still needed to go to school. They wished they didn't have to.

Aurox is something other then human. He listens to Neferet. He does what she tells him to do. Besides he turns into a bull that would kill anything that gets in his way. Zoe has been wearing this red jeweled neckles around her neck and when they arrive at the school, it begins to burn her skin when she is close to Aurox. She doesn't understand it but, she's going to figure it out.

Neferet had gotten Aurox to go talk to Dallas that was the head of the evil red fledgling. They were to come to the school and stay. They were going to have to abide to some of the rules but, they were also needing to feed. Neferet didn't care about that, she just hoped that they would cause trouble.

Kolona is still around but, he wants his son back.He finally flies to the depot to speak with him. Even thought he says he's not with Neferet any more. The group is going to have a hard time with it.

Thanatos comes to the school. She's from the high counsel. She's there to find out the truth of what really is going on with Neferet. Thanatos has an affinity with death and has offered Zoe and her friends to find out the truth about what happened to Zoe's mom. But Neferet doesn't want the truth to come out and makes a deal with darkness to have it stopped. Aurox was trying to change but, because of Neferet's sacrifice he has no control over what ends up happening.

I'm not going to give up the ending. You'll have to pick up the book and read it.

Nocturnal by L. Jerome Word

Christopher Lance is a reporter in Atlanta GA. He is a haunted man dealing with things that had happened almost 15 years ago. His good friend Bre was murdered and he found the burned body. He became famous from solving another story and murder not to long ago. He has been known for doing things that are dangerous to most people but, that's how he gets his stories out.

His best friend Mac and him are on a stake out trying to get information on the mayor. He's in love with his long time friend and girlfriend Jordan. She's been there for him for a long time. Mac has been trying to tell Christopher that he needs to do something concerning Jordan for years now but, he just can't seem to make up his mind. He knows Mac is right though.

Harmony Tennessee is where Christopher grew up and where he met Bre. After her death he was never quite sure what really happened and he knew that he needed to solve the mystery. Dorian Tom was Bre's mom back then and said that Ford was the guy that killed her daughter in court. Something wasn't adding up after he had met with Dorian to talk about something else altogether different. But she caught on to him pretty quickly and he was found unconsense on the floor of his apartment.

With this mystery about his friend growing stronger inside of him. He knew he needed to wipe away those ghosts so he could become more human again and sleep. He takes a trip to Harmony to talk to the sheriff there and doesn't get much from it but, a treat or two. He doesn't plan on stopping his search.

He and Mac take a trip to go and find out more information on Dorian but, end up getting quite beat up and shot at. People are just not going to talk to him. That still isn't going to stop him, he needs to know and then he finds out about Bre maybe being still alive. He needs to find out for sure.

Alexi is a young and beautiful model and Christopher needs to go and talk to her. Even though Dorian doesn't want Alexi to see him she does any ways. To Christopher, he knows for sure that she's Bre his long and not so dead friend. Then ford escapes from jail and is after Dorain to kill her for putting him into prison.

The story moves pretty fast. Its worth reading. I got to say I love a good thriller and this one just keeps moving faster as you read. Many things happen. But to find out how it ends you'll have to read the book.

The Mating by Nicky Charles

This a romantic paranormal suspense novel. Sex, love and fast moving story. Will worth reading in my book. Elise is a nineteen years old and the daughter of the alpha of her pack. Werewolves have lived a very private life on huge pieces of land where they are able to live and run without having human eyes watching them. This day Elise was told to go see her father. She didn't know what it was about and when he explained that she was to be mated to the alpha of another pack she wasn't to happy about it. That's when she laid eyes on the very handsome alpha Kane.

They were mated and was sent to a house just out of distance from everyone else. They had sex more then once in that evening. Elise knew that Kane knew what he was doing. She still didn't like the idea of being mated to someone she didn't know. Byran was her good friend and he wasn't to happy about the whole arrangement in the first place. Elise told him that she was going to be leaving and going to her new pack.

She wasn't sure what was going to happen after getting there and she knew she was overly nervous. Kane knew that this was going to be hard on her and he tried to tell her that things would be fine. When she arrived and his pack members were standing outside waiting on them. Elise that she needed to great them and with Kane's help, she greeted everyone that was there.

Days had now gone buy and Elise got a job in the town that was near by. Marla seemed to be acting funny. She first showed an attitude toward her at first. Things seemed a little funny and certain things weren't making since to her. There was Thomas getting shot, oil being spilled in that lake on the property. Kane not wanting to see that Marla was doing things to make Kane see that Elise was cheating. Elise didn't know what was going on and was willing to try and figure it out.

But if you want to know what happens you will have to read this book. I'll worn you though its not for kids but, its mainly for adults only because of some of the sex scenes in it. Over all, it was a very good book though.

Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember that there's always a good book to find. You might be surprised and what there is out there.

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

This the first book written by this author and another new author to add to my many books I've already read. Gentry is a town with a strange secret. There are dead or replacement people that live under the town. Mackie is one of those. He tries to stay in the shadows and out of the way of metals and blood. Something about him is different then others that live in the town.

Tate is a girl that seemed to be a loner, always sitting by herself. But it is understandable because she lost her sister. Roswell is Mackie's friend along with Danny and Drew. Many of the people in town don't pay attention to what really goes on in the town. One day Mackie is out walking around and he sees someone on the bridge and he can smell death. The guy tells him that he's going to die. Mackie doesn't know what to say, all he does is walk away.

Tate tries to talk to Mackie and tries to tell Mackie that the thing they put in the ground wasn't her sister. Mackie doesn't really want to deal with it. Later in the day after he gets home, his sister hands him some kind of Vile and tells him to drink it. After he does, he starts to feel better. What ever the stuff was it was making him feel stronger.

He has Caroline one of his kind take him under the town to meet the Morrigan. She isn't like anyone he's ever met. They talk for ahile and then she calls for Janice to come and give him more of what was in the vile he got before. The Morrigan tells him that nothing is free and that he will have to something for her in return. She also tells him about her sister.

In the end Tate tells Mackie her story and pretty much Mackie knows all about it. He finds out that Tate's real sister is still alive and he's working up a plan to get her back. If you want to know what happens you'll have to read the book. I'll say for a first novel this one is a good story. Will worth reading.

Well, I'm off to start another book. Remember to pick up a good book. You really don't know if your going to like it tell you get farther into it.

The forbidden game by L.J. Smith

This a a 3 in 1 book. The hunter, The chase and the kill. Jenny was out doing some walking around when she remembered that she needed to pick up something for her boyfriend Tom's birthday. She also knew that she was being followed by two people. She wasn't quite scared but, she knew she needed to find some where to go and hide for awhile. There was a lot of stores closed where she was. But something seemed strange when she came across this store. At first there wasn't a doorknob but now there was. Once inside she got this feeling that she was being watched.

Then, this guy seemed to appear in front of her. He said his name was Julian. Looking at him, he was more beautiful then anyone she had seen before. He asked if he could help her and she said that she was looking for a game to play with her friends. His eyes lit up and he showed her a game and said she could have it. What she didn't know was that this game was going to be more then just a game. It was going to be a game of life and death.

Tom, Audrey, Dee, Micheal, Summer and Zach all come over to Jenny's house to play a game. They put together the paper house and followed all the directions on the box and the something happened. They were in the paper house, like it was real. Julian showed up and said that they could only win if they made it to the top of the house. Each of them has to deal with a nightmare and make it through it. But Summer didn't. What Jenny didn't know was that Julian wanted her to himself and would do anything to get her. To save her friends she made a deal with him but, she tricked him and they all made it back home safe except for Summer.

Jenny kept making the mistake of offering things to Julian she wasn't going to ever give him. In the long run they all ended up in the shadow world where Julian is from, trying to save Tom and Zach and trying to survive because Julian wanted them all dead. Jenny knew he loved her and she needed to try and find away to make him not bad any more.

For a long book of three it was worth while reading. To much to add about what happens to all of them. So you'll just have to pick up the book and read it. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to read a good book, it might change you or open you up to something different.

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

This is the first book in the Anita Blake Vampire hunter series. I will just say it was a very good read.

Anita is a vampire hunter and an animator too. Which meant that she can raise the dead and put them back. She has been called to investigate the murder of vampires. Which over all didn't really bother her. The more that weren't around the better she felt. She didn't realized that one of the biggest and more powerful vampire in the city was wanting a meeting with her.

Nikolaos is over 1000 years old and looks more like a child then an adult. When Jean-Claude takes her to see Nikolaos things weren't ever going to quite be the same for Anita again. She couldn't tell anyone what was going on with her but she found out that Nikolaos was hiring her to solve the vampire murders.

Then, She takes Jean-Claude and punishes him for doing something that not even she knew about. Edward a friend of hers sort of, has shown up to find out where Nikolaos was and he was planning on killing her. Anita begins to have strange dreams with Jean-Claude in them.

Anita meets Philip and asks him to help her find out more information. He works for Jean-Claude and tries to seduce her but she just slaps him down.

By the end of the book, you find out what happens but being that this is just the first book in the series and I guess I'll have to wait to see what happens in the next one. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to read a good book and then you'll probably pick up another one too.

Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick

This is the third book in the Hush, Hush series and I'll have to say its quite good. Nora is kidnapped and has been gone for about 5 months. She wakes up in a cemetary with no memory of what happened or much of anything else. What she doesn't know is that she was kidnapped by the black hand. The leader of the Nephilim's. She gets taken to the hospital where her mother is called and explains to Nora what has been going on. Her mother also says that Hank and her have been dating for awhile. Which Nora isn't real happy about.

After being home for a few days she calls her friend Vee. She tries to get Vee to tell her what she's been missing so she can get some of her memories back. But Vee lies to her and later on Nora confronts her friend about it.

She also has a run in with a few fallen angels and meets Jev or formally known as Patch which she doesn't remember yet. But he saves her from almost getting herslef very hurt but, not just once but twice. After awhile Patch helps Nora remember who he is and what she ment to him as will as that her loved her. She knew deep down inside of herself that she felt the same way.

They both had one problem and that was trying to get rid of the black hand which is Hank. He had been playing mindtricks on Nora and her mother and Nora knew that she didn't trust him at all. Patch wants to kill Hank but Nora says she wants to be the one to do it. Over all they need a plan some how to be able to do that.

By the end of the book everything comes together and a few surprising things as will. Will things work out between Nora and Patch? Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the next book. I'm off now to start my next book.

Note to readers of this blog...I will be adding books to my blog now after I finish a book. It will matter how often between the new posts and the old ones because, of how fast I can read the books and finish them and I thank everyone of my followers and those that come to view my blog for your surport.

Wicked by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie

This is the fifth book in the series wicked. Its not as good as the other four. But, it gives you the best ending they can for the series. Its a little slow read. The series about mostly about witches and the lives they had tried to live but things ended up getting in the way.




Two sisters and thier cousin end up fighting evil and also end up being captives of evil warlocks. People from other covens end up trying thier best to help them. In the process of winning or thinking that they have won, they meet and fall in love with the son of one of the evil guys that tries to wipe them off the planet. It doesn't work out and the son ends up becoming a monster inside and out.



Holly, one of those good witches is the one that falls in love with Jer, one of the bad ones. He doesn't like what he's feeling and tries to fight it. With his looks, he's afraid that she'll never love him because of what he looks like and leaves for awhile.



Holly has to try and save the world from the new evil that is coming and ends up becoming something even she didn't know would change the rest of her life. She argues over the problem and says that she owesher family and friends. At the end she does have a great happy ending.



When it comes to some books that i read if it isn't good usely I wouldn't write about it. But I've decided that if I've read the book all the way through then its worth writing about anyways. I'm not saying don't read it. But, you should read the first four books first. Its imprtant, I have always felt, that people who read like me, try different authors. But, I will say too, never read something that your bored with or you just can't get into. Some books aren't worth your time if it takes you over half the book to even get into it.

I don't have the other four books to this series. I've read them but, not in quite awhile. If your interested in wanting to know more about the series the other four books are actually better then this one.



Sure, I try new books all the time. Some authors I read more books by them. Partly just to find out what else they write.
